Growing up in Guilford, CT, whenever I would visit my Aunt Laura, an established local children's photographer, I would fall in love with the photographs hanging in her home studio. I remember thinking that I too wanted to express what I saw when I looked at people.
At 17, I recieved my first amateur camera as a high school graduation present, and I haven't stopped taking pictures since.
After high school, I went on to study photography at the Creative Arts Workshop in New Haven, CT and at Providence College in Providence, R.I.
Immediately after college I became the Editorial Assistant for a local newspaper, where I found myself wanting to take as many photo assignments as were available. After serving as a second photographer for the paper for almost a year, I decided that my heart was with photography and I wanted to devote my energy to learning and growing as a portrait photographer.
I left the newspaper to assist and study children and family photography with various photographers in Manhattan, and from there went on to work as a Photography Assignment Editor at WireImage.com, a celebrity photography agency in Manhattan.
Today, I have opened Dana Pelliccio Photography to fulfill my passion for photography and share it with the world.
I am happy to bring my services anywhere in Connecticut.
